OPENVPN : read UDPv4 [EHOSTUNREACH]: No route to host (code=113)

I was getting this error on my openvpn server : read UDPv4 [EHOSTUNREACH]: No route to host (code=113)
it seemed to be a network problem , but after a lot of work I found out it is because the time and date of the client side was out dated !

  • Try removing the TUN interface using KDE or Gnome net tools then re-run Kvpnc if you are using this VPN control interface and it will re-create the TUN inteface.

    Or else create it manually.

    sudo mkdir /dev/net
    sudo mknod /dev/net/tun c 10 200

    In my case it turned out, that OpenVPN was binding to the wrong network interface – fixed this with ‘local’ – option to tell OpenVPN the IP to bind to
